Road Trains
Road Trains. For some they are the horror of the Australian highways. These monsters race with 110 km/h through the outback. They are (max.) 53 meters long. If you want to pass one of these in a car you really need time. When they pass me they've passed in a blink of an eye, but after that I keep blinking my eyes for a while against the dust - and often stones - they cause flying around... Make sure you stay out of their way. They can't stop that easy (they take 2 kilometers to pull up!) and making a swerve is not that easy either...

Unfortunately you don't only encounter Road Trains on tarmac roads. When you see them on dirt, stay away as they'll cause a huge shower of sand, stones and other dust!
